Abstract

15 year old female child presented with history of recurrent throat infections for the past many years. It would often be accompanied by fever and subside by getting antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs for a few days, prescribed by a local practitioner. On oropharyngeal examination bilateral enlarged and erythematous palatine tonsils were noticed, which were in contact with the adjacent sides of the uvula. These enlarged tonsils that are in contact in the midline are also known as “KISSING TONSILS”.
