Abstract

Adolescent  age  group  is  relatively  more  prone  to  nutritional rickets/osteomalacia  due  to  an  increased  demand  for  nutrients,  especially  vitamin D  and  calcium.  Diagnosis  of  osteomalacia  is  usually  delayed  and  neglected  due  to  patients  presenting  with  non-specific  signs  and  symptoms;  as  compared  with  other  metabolic  bone  diseases.  It  may  present  with  a  variety  of  clinical  and  radiographic  manifestations  mimicking  other  musculoskeletal  disorders.  One  of  the  characteristic  radiological  finding  of  osteomalacia  is  Looser’s  zones  or    pseudofractures.
